We got approached by a client who wanted to build an app to help people quit smoking and vaping. The goal was simple: create something that actually works.
Here's what we built and how we did it.
Research & Design
We looked at what's already out there. Most quit-smoking apps are just trackers — count days, see money saved. Useful, but not enough. People need support, not just data.
So we focused on three things:
- Track everything: cravings, triggers, mood, progress
- Keep it supportive: friendly, not pushy
- Make it useful: features backed by what actually helps people quit
Technical Stack
We used Flutter so it works on both iPhone and Android without building twice.
For the MVP, we built:
- Progress tracking
- Challenges section to keep users motivated
We kept it simple. Build, test, get feedback, repeat.
Testing
We tested with real users and learned:
- People need quick help during cravings
- The interface needs to feel supportive, not clinical
- Challenges work when they're simple and clear
What We Built
The MVP includes:
- Progress Tracker: See your journey, track milestones
- Challenges: Small goals to stay motivated
- Cross-platform: Works on iOS and Android
- Simple design: Easy to use, not overwhelming
Why We Care
Building health apps is different from building regular apps. People rely on these tools during tough moments. Get it wrong, and you're not just annoying someone — you might be making their journey harder.
So we spent time understanding what actually helps people quit. Not what sounds good in theory, but what works in practice.
What's Next
We finished development at the end of December 2025. Now it's in beta testing. We're gathering feedback, fixing bugs, and making it better before the full launch.
